Covid-19 Plan & Policies
Health and safety must always come first. Having consulted expert advice from Government Health experts, Tennis Australia, Tennis Victoria and the International Tennis Federation, we have come up with a number of policies to safely return to tennis mitigating any risks related to Covid-19.
- Our senior coaches have all completed the Australian Government Department of Health's COVID-19 infection control training
- Lessons will be modified where necessary to adhere to the strict 10 person outdoor gathering limit
- Students are always to be spaced at least 1.5m apart during sessions, strictly no touching.
- Students are instructed to not play if they have Covid-19 symptoms or even mild flu-like symptoms, have been in contact with anyone with Covid-19 or mild flu-like symptoms, or are in a high-risk category for Covid-19.
- Everyone is asked to arrive at the venue close to the lesson time and depart immediately after.
- No sharing of equipment or drink bottles, only the coach touches and picks up tennis balls, except for serving activities where disposable gloves will be provided.
- Players are asked to bring a full drink bottle, drinking taps are not to be used.
- Daily cleaning and disinfecting of any shared surfaces will be performed – eg net, net handle, hoses, court bagger, entry gates.
- Mandatory hand sanitizer at gate will be applied before and after lessons.
- We will remind our students to protect against infection by:
- Avoiding touching face while playing
- Strictly no sharing of drink bottles
- Covering coughs and sneezes into elbow
- Avoiding touching surfaces unnecessarily
- Students are asked to use the bathroom at home if needed prior to their lesson - the clubhouse is still closed, we can open only for emergency toilet use.
- We encourage online or contactless payments rather than cash.
- We will ask to record everyone present at the venue (not just students) with a contact number if ever needed for contact tracing purposes.
